Connection Channels and Schedules

Joshua Lovell · Updated

The Channels tab on a Connection shows every type of data DropStream can move between the store and the warehouse. Each channel has its own enable/disable switch, schedule, and run-now action.

Available channels

DropStream supports up to seven channels per Connection:

Channel Direction Schedules
Sales Orders Store → Warehouse Default schedule
Shipments Warehouse → Store Default schedule
Inventory Warehouse → Store Default (delta) + Full sync
Products Store ↔ Warehouse Update products + Export to warehouse
Returns Store ↔ Warehouse Default schedule
Catalogs Warehouse → Store Default schedule
Purchase Orders Warehouse ↔ Store Import + Status update

When a channel shows “Not supported”

A channel is only available when both the Store and the Warehouse platforms support it. For example, Returns is only configurable when both sides of the Connection support returns; otherwise the channel card displays Not supported.

If a channel you expected isn’t available, check the integration docs for both your store platform and your warehouse platform — DropStream Integrations.

Enable or disable a channel

Each channel card has its own enable/disable switch in the top-right. Disabling a channel stops just that data flow; the rest of the Connection keeps running. This is useful for example if you want to import orders but not push inventory updates back to the store.

The connection-level enable/disable switch is separate — see Enable, Disable, or Delete a Connection. The connection must be enabled for any channel to run.

Edit a schedule

Click the clock icon on a channel card to open the Edit rules dialog. You can change the recurrence (every N minutes, hourly, daily, or a cron-style rule) or add multiple schedule rules to the same channel — for example, every 5 minutes during business hours and every hour overnight.

Click Save changes to apply.

Channels with multiple schedules

Some channels expose more than one schedule:

  • Inventory — a Default schedule for incremental (delta) updates and a Full sync schedule that re-syncs every SKU.
  • Products — an Update products schedule and a separate Export to warehouse action (manual by default).
  • Purchase Orders — an Import schedule for new POs from the warehouse and a Status update schedule for status changes back to the store.

Each sub-schedule has its own clock icon and run-now action.

Run a channel now

Click the run-now icon (next to the clock) on a channel card to trigger that channel immediately — for example, Import sales orders on the Sales Orders card. A modal opens with channel-specific options; for order imports, you can leave the date blank to import everything since the last successful run, or pick a specific cutoff date.

Click Import to start the run. The channel status updates on the Connection page when the run completes.
