If your store platform supports multiple selling locations (for example, Shopify locations or an ERP with multiple warehouses), DropStream lets you map each warehouse facility to a corresponding store location. Once mapped, fulfillment and inventory updates flow to the right location on both sides.
When the Locations tab is available
The Locations sub-tab under Settings only appears when both the Store platform and the Warehouse platform support multiple locations. Single-location platforms don’t need a mapping — every order and inventory update belongs to the one location either side has — so the sub-tab is hidden.
If your Store supports multi-location but the warehouse doesn’t (or vice-versa), the tab is also hidden because there’s nothing meaningful to map.
Open the Locations mapping
On the Connection page, open the Settings tab, then click Locations.
When no links are configured yet, you’ll see No location links configured.
Add a location link
Click + Add new link in the top-right of the Location mapping panel. You’ll be prompted to pick:
- A Warehouse facility — one of the locations the warehouse platform reports for this merchant.
- A Store location — one of the locations the store platform reports for this store.
Save the link. DropStream will route inventory updates and shipment acknowledgments for the warehouse facility to the matching store location.
You can add as many links as you have locations. A given warehouse facility should typically map to one store location, but the exact constraints depend on the platforms involved.
Edit or remove a link
Click an existing link to edit which store location it points to, or remove the link entirely. Removing a link doesn’t delete either location — it just disconnects them in DropStream’s routing.
Troubleshooting
If you see Store Locations Unavailable at the top of the page, DropStream couldn’t fetch the location list from the store platform. This usually means:
- Store credentials are missing or have expired — test the connection from the Store settings.
- The store account doesn’t have permission to list locations.
- The platform’s locations API is temporarily unavailable.
Resolve the underlying issue, then reload the page to see the locations list.
