Cin7 Omni - Enable API Access

Neil G · Updated

This article is for whoever connects a Cin7 Omni account inside DropStream — a fulfillment provider (3PL) or a merchant who manages their own DropStream account. You’ll add the store through DropStream’s Add Connection wizard. If a fulfillment provider is setting up DropStream for you, you don’t need this page — just gather your Cin7 Omni API credentials and send them over.

What you’ll need

How DropStream connects to Cin7 Omni

Every store connects through the same Add Connection wizard. For the full walkthrough of the wizard’s four steps, see Add a Connection. This article covers only the Store Setup step, where you enter the Cin7 Omni-specific details.

Enter your Cin7 Omni details

  1. In the Add Connection wizard, work through to the Store Setup step. Choose Create new store, give the store a Name, and select Cin7 Omni as the Platform. The Cin7 Omni credential fields appear below.

  2. Enter your credentials:

    Field What it is Example
API Username Your Cin7 Omni API username MyStore-API
API Password Your Cin7 Omni API connection key a1b2c3d4e5f6

For where to find each value, see Get Your API Credentials.

  3. (Optional) Set the Stage — the sales-order stage DropStream imports: New, Awaiting Payment, Dispatched (default), Processing, On Hold, or Declined. (The Accept Orders After setting currently has no effect.)

  4. Click Add connection.

Notes

  • The Cin7 Omni API Connection must grant read access to Contacts, Branches, Product Categories, Products, Product Options, Stock, Serial Numbers, Quotes, and BOM Masters, plus read + update on Sales Orders.
