DropStream connects your Wayfair supplier account to a warehouse management system so orders flow automatically from Wayfair to shipment, and inventory stays in sync — without manual intervention.
Wayfair offers two API generations. Choose one before you start:
- REST API (Version 2) — recommended. The current Wayfair API. Authenticates with a Client ID and Client Secret.
- SFTP (Version 1) — legacy. The older file-based API. Authenticates with FTP credentials.
What this integration does
- Imports orders from Wayfair into DropStream.
- Forwards orders to your warehouse management system, with line items mapped by SKU.
- Posts fulfillment status back to Wayfair when the warehouse ships, including tracking numbers and carrier information.
- Pushes inventory updates from the warehouse to Wayfair, including the required daily full (“True Up”) sync.
What you’ll need
- A Wayfair supplier account with access to the partner portal.
- Your Supplier ID, plus either a Client ID + Client Secret (REST v2) or FTP Username + Password (SFTP v1).
- A DropStream account. If you don’t have one yet, contact your DropStream administrator or fulfillment provider.
Setup at a glance
- Get your API credentials (in Wayfair) — for REST Version 2 (recommended) or SFTP Version 1.
- Enable API access (in DropStream) — for REST Version 2 (recommended) or SFTP Version 1. Add the store through the Add Connection wizard and enter your credentials.
- Validate the application in Wayfair — Wayfair requires validation testing before granting production API access.
- Configure daily full inventory sync (required) — Wayfair requires a full inventory sync at least once every 24 hours.
Who does what
- If you manage your own DropStream account, you’ll do every step yourself — switching between Wayfair and DropStream as the steps suggest.
- If a third-party fulfillment provider is configuring DropStream for you, you typically gather the credentials and complete the Wayfair-side validation; your provider handles the DropStream configuration.
Notes and limitations
- Warehouse source address must be set by DropStream Support. Wayfair requires a SourceAddress on shipment notifications, configured per merchant — provide your warehouse address to DropStream Support (see Validate Application).
- Names can’t be transformed. Wayfair requires shipment names to match the original order exactly, so don’t use rules to alter billing/shipping names.
- The daily full inventory sync is required, not optional — schedule it during off-peak hours.
