About the Catalog

Karl Falconer · Updated

The Catalog is your merchant’s product master — one record per item, identified by the SKU your fulfillment provider uses. To open it, click Products → Catalog in the left sidebar.

The Product Catalog list page

Catalog records are optional. DropStream can import orders, push shipments, and sync inventory for SKUs that aren’t in the catalog — see When products are required. You add a product to the catalog when you want DropStream to do something extra with it: translate a storefront SKU to a warehouse SKU, split a bundle into components, or override product details per channel.

What you can do in the catalog

  • View the catalog — browse, search, and filter catalog items; open a product to see its master attributes, listings, components, and inventory.
  • Add or edit a product — create a master record, edit its attributes, and manage its per-channel listings from one form.
  • Bundle products — define a single catalog SKU as a bundle of component SKUs so DropStream splits it into its parts when an order arrives.
  • When products are required — a quick reference for which workflows do and do not need a catalog record.
  • Listings — the per-channel SKU and attribute mappings that link a catalog product to each store it’s sold on.
  • Inventory — warehouse and channel inventory levels for the SKUs in your catalog (and any others your warehouse reports).
