Edit the Inventory Update Schedule

Documentation Team · Updated

DropStream syncs inventory automatically on a schedule once you’ve enabled inventory updates on a connection. Smart Sync and Full Sync have separate schedules — Smart runs frequently to keep levels current; Full runs less often (or only on demand) to do a complete reconciliation. See Smart Sync and Full Sync for what each one does.

Edit a schedule

  1. Click Connections in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the connection name.
  3. Locate the Inventory channel card.
  4. Click the clock icon next to the schedule you want to edit:
    • Default schedule — controls Smart Sync.
    • Full sync schedule — controls Full Sync.

The Inventory channel card with the schedule edit icons

  1. The Edit Schedule modal opens. Click Add schedule to add a rule, or click an existing rule to edit it.

The Edit Schedule modal for inventory

  1. Choose the schedule type and configure it (see below). Add as many rules as you need — they all apply.
  2. Click Save changes.

Schedule types

  • Minutely — run every N minutes. The minimum interval is 60 minutes for Smart Sync.
  • Hourly — run every N hours at a specific minute past the hour.
  • Daily — run once a day at a specific time.
  • Flexible — run every N minutes/hours, but only between a Start Hour and End Hour, on selected weekdays. Use this to throttle syncs to business hours or off-peak windows.

In a Flexible schedule, Start Hour is the first hourly block the schedule will run in, and End Hour is the last. Leaving both blank means “all hours.”

  • Smart Sync: every 60 minutes is a reasonable default. Faster than that doesn’t help most workflows because the warehouse rarely reports more often.
  • Full Sync: once per day during off-peak hours (for example 1:00 AM). Most operations don’t need it more than that, and Full Syncs are expensive on both sides.

Run a sync now, outside the schedule

Each row of icons on the Inventory channel card has a sync now action next to the schedule edit:

  • Click Update inventory to run a Smart Sync immediately.
  • Click Full inventory update to run a Full Sync immediately.

A manual run does not skip or push back the next scheduled run.
