DropStream connects your 3dcart store to a warehouse management system so orders flow automatically from cart to shipment, and stock levels stay in sync without manual intervention.
What this integration does
- Imports orders from 3dcart into DropStream.
- Forwards orders to your warehouse management system, with line items mapped by SKU and the customer’s chosen shipping method translated to a code the fulfillment center understands.
- Posts fulfillment status back to 3dcart when the warehouse ships, including tracking numbers and carrier information.
- Pushes inventory updates from the warehouse to 3dcart so available quantities reflect real stock.
What you’ll need
- A 3dcart store you can sign in to with admin access.
- Your 3dcart Secure URL, and the ability to authorize the DropStream app in the 3dcart REST API module.
- A DropStream account. If you don’t have one yet, contact your DropStream administrator or fulfillment provider.
Setup at a glance
The setup involves work on two sides — 3dcart, then DropStream — and the recommended order is:
- Get your API credentials (in 3dcart) — note the Secure URL.
- Enable API access (in 3dcart and DropStream) — authorize the DropStream app in 3dcart, then add the store in DropStream and enter the Secure URL.
- Configure SKUs — give every 3dcart product a SKU. They don’t have to match your warehouse SKUs; if they differ, map them with a Listing. Missing SKUs are a common cause of failed fulfillment.
- Gather shipping methods — map the shipping methods offered at checkout to the codes your fulfillment center uses.
- (Optional) Enable inventory tracking — for products with options, define an inventory-tracking SKU so DropStream’s pushed inventory updates take effect.
- Review order status — confirm orders are flowing end-to-end once the integration is enabled.
Who does what
- If you manage your own DropStream account, you’ll do every step yourself — switching between 3dcart and DropStream as the article order suggests.
- If a third-party fulfillment provider is configuring DropStream for you, gather your Secure URL and authorize the DropStream app in 3dcart, then send the Secure URL to your provider; they handle the rest.
Notes and limitations
- You must authorize the DropStream app in the 3dcart REST API module before the connection will work.
- Inventory tracking for products with options requires an inventory-tracking SKU.
If something isn’t working, start with Review order status.
