The Application Programming Interface (API) allows for automated communication between connected systems. In order to automate fulfillment, API access must be enabled in both 3dcart and DropStream.
If you have not yet gathered your API credentials, follow these steps first:
Enable API access in 3dcart
After your 3dcart store has been created in DropStream, you must enable the 3dcart REST API module and authorize the DropStream app.
Using the new 3dcart admin panel
If you are using the "new" version of the 3dcart admin panel, follow the steps in this section. If you are using the "legacy" 3dcart admin panel, follow the steps in the next section instead.
Note: If you are using the legacy panel, and you'd like to use the new one, go into the panel and click Switch to the new Admin Interface.
- In the new 3dcart admin panel, click Modules, and enter the search term REST API.
- Enable the module.
- Click Change Settings.
- Click Add.
- For the Public Key, enter

. Click Add. - Click Authorize.
When the app is authorized, proceed to enter your credentials in DropStream.
Using the legacy 3dcart Admin Panel
If you are using the legacy 3dcart admin panel, follow these steps to enable the API and authorize the app:
- In the legacy 3dcart admin panel, click Settings > General Store Settings.
- Under REST API, click Change Settings.
- Click Add, then enter

as the Public Key. - Click Add.
- Click Authorize.
Enter API credentials in DropStream
- In your DropStream dashboard, click Stores.
- Click the name of your 3dcart store.
- In Connection details, enter the 3dcart Secure URL.
- Click Save changes.
