Edit an order

Karl Falconer · Updated

You can edit an order’s billing and shipping fields, payment dates, and individual line items directly in DropStream. This is most often used to correct data that’s blocking processing — for example, a name field that’s too long for the warehouse to accept, or a missing required field.

After editing, reprocess the order so the warehouse receives the corrected data.

Edit billing, shipping, and order fields

  1. Open the order from the orders list.
  2. Click Actions in the top right, then Edit.

    Edit order modal

  3. Edit any fields. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).
  4. Click Save changes.

Edit a line item

  1. On the order detail page, on the Items tab, click the kebab menu (⋮) at the right of the line item, then Edit.

    Edit line item modal

  2. Edit the SKU, name, quantity, prices, or any other line attribute, then click Save changes.

To remove a line item entirely, click the kebab menu and choose Delete instead.

When edits won’t help

If the warehouse has already shipped the order, editing it in DropStream can cause acknowledgement errors back to the sales channel — the data DropStream sends back won’t match what the channel originally sent. In that case, delete the order in DropStream, make the edit in the sales channel, and let DropStream re-import the corrected order.
