Cin7 Core - Enable API Access

Karl Falconer · Updated

This article is for whoever connects a Cin7 Core account inside DropStream — a fulfillment provider (3PL) or a merchant who manages their own DropStream account. You’ll add the store through DropStream’s Add Connection wizard. If a fulfillment provider is setting up DropStream for you, you don’t need this page — just gather your Cin7 Core API credentials and send them over.

What you’ll need

How DropStream connects to Cin7 Core

Every store connects through the same Add Connection wizard. For the full walkthrough of the wizard’s four steps, see Add a Connection. This article covers only the Store Setup step, where you enter the Cin7 Core-specific details.

Enter your Cin7 Core details

  1. In the Add Connection wizard, work through to the Store Setup step. Choose Create new store, give the store a Name, and select Cin7 Core as the Platform. The Cin7 Core credential fields appear below.

  2. Enter your credentials:

    Field What it is Example
Account ID Your Cin7 Core account ID a1b2c3d4-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
Application Key Your DropStream application key a1b2c3d4e5f6

For where to find each value, see Get Your API Credentials.

  3. (Optional) Adjust the import settings:

    • Default Box ID.
    • Warehouse location — if specified, import orders for this warehouse only.
    • Import StatusOrdered (default), Packed, Picked, Packing, Picking, Ordering, Backordered, Invoiced, Credited, or Completed.
    • Update on Hand — enable to support inventory updates (default disabled).
  4. Click Add connection.

Notes

  • Before connecting, add the DropStream application in Cin7 Core (Menu > Integration > API) to obtain the Account ID and Application Key.
  • Inventory Sync requires a UnitCost value on all items — otherwise inventory updates fail.
