DropStream connects your Cin7 Core (formerly DEAR Systems) account to a warehouse management system so orders flow automatically from sale to shipment, and stock levels stay in sync without manual intervention.
What this integration does
-
Imports orders from Cin7 Core into DropStream once they reach the status you choose to monitor (default
Ordered). - Forwards orders to your warehouse management system, with line items mapped by SKU.
- Posts fulfillment status back to Cin7 Core when the warehouse ships, including tracking numbers and carrier information.
- Pushes inventory updates from the warehouse to Cin7 Core (when Update on Hand is enabled).
What you’ll need
- A Cin7 Core account you can sign in to.
- Your Cin7 Core Account ID and Application Key (created when you add the DropStream application).
- A DropStream account. If you don’t have one yet, contact your DropStream administrator or fulfillment provider.
Setup at a glance
The setup involves work on two sides — Cin7 Core, then DropStream — and the recommended order is:
- Get your API credentials (in Cin7 Core) — add the DropStream application and note the Account ID and Application Key.
- Enable shipment notifications (in Cin7 Core) — set Pack Settings to Manual so DropStream can post shipment confirmations.
- Enable API access (in DropStream) — add the store through the Add Connection wizard and enter your Cin7 Core credentials.
Who does what
- If you manage your own DropStream account, you’ll do every step yourself — switching between Cin7 Core and DropStream as the article order suggests.
- If a third-party fulfillment provider is configuring DropStream for you, you only need Get your API credentials (and to enable shipment notifications). Send the resulting credentials to your provider; they handle the rest.
Notes and limitations
- Inventory Sync requires a
UnitCostvalue on all items, or inventory updates fail. - Shipment notifications require Cin7 Core Pack Settings set to Manual.
