This article is for whoever connects AfterShip Returns inside DropStream — a fulfillment provider (3PL) or a merchant who manages their own DropStream account. You’ll add the connection through DropStream’s Add Connection wizard. This integration imports returns from AfterShip; it doesn’t import new orders.
If a fulfillment provider is setting up DropStream for you, you don’t need this page — gather your AfterShip API key and send it over.
What you’ll need
- A DropStream account you can sign in to.
- Your AfterShip API Key — see AfterShip Returns - Gather API Credentials.
How DropStream connects to AfterShip
Every connection is added through the same Add Connection wizard. For the full walkthrough of the wizard’s steps, see Add a Connection. This article covers only the Store Setup step, where you enter the AfterShip-specific details.

In the Add Connection wizard, work through to the Store Setup step. Choose Create new store, give it a Name, and select AfterShip Returns as the Platform. The AfterShip credential fields appear below.

Notes
- This connection imports returns, not new orders.
- Return status flows one way — from AfterShip into DropStream. DropStream does not send updates back to AfterShip.
