About Listings

Karl Falconer · Updated

A listing is the per-channel record that ties a catalog product to a store. It tells DropStream “on this channel, the master product E-BIKE-BUNDLE is sold under the SKU BIKE-SET” — and optionally overrides attributes like price, weight, or name for that channel.

To open the listings list, click Products → Listings in the left sidebar.

What listings do

Two responsibilities, both keyed off the per-channel SKU:

  1. SKU translation. When a channel sends an order with its storefront SKU, the listing tells DropStream which master product (and therefore which warehouse SKU) it really is. The warehouse receives the master SKU — or, for bundles, the component SKUs. See How listings resolve SKUs.
  2. Per-channel attribute overrides. If a listing has a value for name, weight, price, image URL, or description, that value is used on that channel; otherwise the master product’s value is used.

Like catalog records, listings are optional. If a channel’s SKU matches the warehouse SKU and you don’t need per-channel overrides, you don’t need a listing. See When products are required.

What you can do with listings

  • View listings — browse every per-channel SKU mapping across your merchants and stores.
  • Add or edit a listing — create a new mapping, change the channel SKU, or update a per-channel attribute override.
  • How listings resolve SKUs — what DropStream actually does on order import when a storefront SKU is (or isn’t) listed.
  • Catalog — the master products that listings reference. Every listing has exactly one master.
  • Bundle products — when the master is a bundle, listings are how each channel’s storefront SKU enters the bundle expansion.
