Set the order import schedule

Documentation Team · Updated

DropStream pulls orders from each connection on a recurring schedule. The schedule is configured per channel on the connection — sales orders, shipments, inventory, and products each have their own. This article covers the Sales Orders schedule.

View the current schedule

  1. Click Connections in the left sidebar, then click the name of the connection.
  2. On the Channels tab, find the Sales Orders card.

Sales Orders channel card on a connection

The card shows:

  • Recurrence — a plain-language description of the current schedule.
  • Last completed — when the most recent import run finished.
  • Next update — when the next scheduled run will start.
  • A clock icon to edit the schedule, and a refresh icon to trigger an import manually.

Edit the schedule

  1. Click the clock icon at the right of the Sales Orders card. The Edit Schedule Rules modal opens with the current rules listed.

Edit Schedule Rules modal, with the timezone line under the rules

  2. To add a new rule, click Add schedule and choose a type:

Add schedule menu: Minutely, Hourly, At specific times, Flexible

    Type What it does
Minutely Runs every N minutes. Minimum is 15 minutes.
    Hourly Runs every N hours.
At specific times Runs at one exact time of day, on the days you pick.
Flexible Repeats on an interval inside a start and end hour window, on the days you pick.
  3. Set the values for each rule. To remove a rule, click its Delete button.
  4. Click Save changes.

You can stack multiple rules — for example, an At specific times rule for off-hours plus a Minutely rule during business hours. DropStream runs an import whenever any active rule fires.

Run at specific times on selected days

At specific times runs the import at one exact time of day, on the days you pick. It was called Daily before.

  1. In the Edit Schedule Rules modal, click Add schedule and choose At specific times.
  2. Pick a time in the At list. It offers every hour and half hour, and you can type a time such as 9:15 am.
  3. Under Every, uncheck the days to skip. All seven start checked.
  4. Click Save changes.

Keep at least one day checked, or the save fails with must include at least one day of the week.

One rule fires at one time. For two times a day, add two rules.

Example: weekdays at 9:00 am and 4:00 pm

  1. Add an At specific times rule. Set At to 9:00 am and uncheck Sun and Sat.
  2. Add a second one. Set At to 4:00 pm and uncheck Sun and Sat.
  3. Click Save changes.

The card now shows the Recurrence as weekdays at 9:00 am and 4:00 pm — rules on the same days are merged into one phrase.

Common day sets get a short label:

Days checked Shown as
All seven every day
Mon–Fri weekdays
Sat and Sun weekends
Anything else the day names, such as Mondays and Thursdays

Notes on Flexible schedules

In a Flexible schedule, Start Hour is the first hour block in which the schedule runs and End Hour is the last hour block. So 12am to 11pm means “all 24 hours of the day” — equivalent to leaving both blank.

The schedule applies on the days you check; uncheck a day to skip it entirely.

Use Flexible to repeat on an interval inside a window — every 30 minutes between 8am and 6pm. Use At specific times for exact times.

Which timezone the times use

The bottom of the modal names the timezone, for example Times are in Eastern Time (US & Canada) — from your profile settings.

It comes from your own user profile, not the account or the connection. The schedule keeps the timezone of whoever saved last, so check that line before you save.

Rules this editor can’t change

A schedule can hold a repeat rule this editor has no form for — a weekly or monthly rule that support set up for you. It shows as a read-only row with a warning: This editor can’t change this rule. Delete it to save other changes.

You cannot save while that row is there. Delete it to save your other edits, or contact support to keep it as it is.

Disable imports without deleting the schedule

To pause imports while keeping the schedule configuration, toggle the Sales Orders switch on the channel card to off. The schedule stays saved and resumes when you toggle it back on.
