Add a Notification Channel and Alert Policy

Using a DropStream Notification Channel, you can configure custom Alert Policies to send notifications if certain conditions are violated. For example, you can configure the channel to send email notifications if there is an error processing an order.

To add a new Notification Channel and Alert Policy, follow these steps.

  1. Click your Account Name > Account Settings in the top right of the screen, and then select Account Settings.

  2. On the Alert Settings tab select Notification Channels. Then click +Add Notification Channel.

  3.  Name your Notification Channel and select the platform of delivery (defaults to email). Then specify the email addresses to which the notifications should be delivered and how frequently, and click Add notification channel.

  4. You will be able to edit that information later by clicking on Edit next to the name of the Notification Channel.

  5. Click Alert Policies, and then +Add Alert Policy.

  6. Under Alert Policy Name, choose an Incident Preference (Per policy, Per condition, or Per condition and target). Click the Notification Channels drop-down box, and choose one or more existing Notification Channels. Then, click Add alert policy.

  7. The new Alert Policy is created. When prompted, specify the rules of your new condition, and click Add Condition.  See the Incident alerts article for more information.

  8. Enable the alert by sliding the ON/OFF switch.

  9. Your new Alert Policy is now active. To change your Alert Policy later, find its name in the Alert Policies list, and click Edit to edit the name of the alert policy, incident preference and notification channels.

  10. To edit the services and conditions that trigger the alert, click on the name of the alert policy and then click Edit.
