Many actions are handled as background processes. This can take some time. The user interface is not updated until the process is complete, so there is no indication that the action was recognized.
If you try to delete a resource or manually run an update, and nothing appears to happen, don't assume the command didn't go through. You can check the Tasks to see the latest activities. One of the 2-3 most recent entries should make reference to your task being scheduled. Check back a while later and see if the request has been processed.
If there was a problem, this will also be reflected in the Tasks records, as well as the Alerts log. You may also receive an email alerting you of any problem.
