This article outlines the steps required for configuring your 3DCart integration:
- Configure product SKUs.
- Gather shipping methods.
- Enable inventory tracking.
- Review order status.
- Define custom order status (optional).
1. Configure product SKUs
Stock keeping units (SKU) are merchant-defined codes that uniquely identify products in a warehouse. It is critical that the SKUs defined in 3DCart exactly match the SKUs loaded into your warehouse management system.
2. Gather shipping methods
Most businesses have unique shipping needs that are based on a variety of factors and limitations. Once the Merchant has decided which methods (and/or carriers) to offer, the only thing shoppers need to do is choose a method when they place their orders. As part of the third-party fulfillment setup process a mapping must be created from each available shipping description offered in the e-commerce system to the unique shipping code used by the fulfillment center.
3. Enable inventory tracking
Inventory tracking is enabled by default with the 3DCart integration. For products with options (such as size or color) you must define an inventory tracking SKU.
4. Review order status
Setting the integration to Enabled initiates the process of automatically sending orders from the e-commerce cart to your warehouse management system.
5. Create custom order status
It is possible to create a custom order status with 3DCart that triggers customized behavior in your DropStream integration.
