Spree Commerce - Configuring SKUs

Stock keeping units (SKU) are merchant defined codes used to uniquely identify products in a warehouse. It is critical that the SKUs defined in Spree Commerce match exactly to the SKUs loaded into your warehouse management system. Options include:
  • Obtaining SKUs
  • Product Variants

Obtaining SKUs

To obtain SKUs in Spree Commerce:
  1. Click on Products

  2. Click on the product of choice. The SKU is displayed as part of the product information. You should ensure that all products have a SKU when they are created.

Product Variants

If any of your products have variants, it is also necessary that each variant receives a unique SKU. To define variants:
  1. From within Spree Commerce, go to Edit Product screen by clicking on Variants. Each variant receives a SKU number.
