If for any reason you want to immediately halt the automated fulfillment process, you can disable a Store.
Billing continues for a Store, regardless if it is currently Enabled or Disabled.

Disable a Store
When you disable a Store, orders cease to be imported or processed from that sales channel.
Disable Sales Order Import
To stop importing orders, but continue other store tasks such as exporting shipment notifications, you can disable sales order import for that store.
