Shopify - Configuring SKUs

Stock keeping units (SKU) are merchant defined codes used to uniquely identify products in a warehouse. It is critical that the SKUs defined in Shopify match exactly to the SKUs loaded into your warehouse management system.
 
Options include:
      
  • Adding a SKU
  • Adding or Editing a SKU to an Existing Product


Adding a SKU

To add a SKU:
      
  1. Login to your Shopify administration panel

  2. Click ​Products > Add product

  3. Under the Inventory & Variants header, enter a unique SKU.



     

  4. Click the Save button to finish.



Adding or Editing a SKU to an Existing Product

To add or edit a SKU to an existing product:
      
  1. Login to your Shopify administration panel

  2. Click Products, select the desired product

  3. Under the Inventory & Variants header, click edit for the desired variant

  4. Modify the SKU, then click the Save button.
