3DCart - Configuring SKUs

Stock keeping units (SKU) are merchant defined codes used to uniquely identify products in a warehouse. It is critical that the SKUs defined in 3DCart match exactly to the SKUs loaded into your warehouse management system. Options include:
   
  • Adding a SKU
  • Modifying a SKU
  • Working with Product Options

Adding a SKU to a new product

To add a SKU:
   
  1. Login to your 3DCart administration panel

  2. Navigate to the New Products screen by clicking Products > Add New

  3. In the field labeled ID/SKU​ define your custom SKU.


Note: 3DCart does not prevent duplicate SKUs. Make sure to not have duplicate SKUs as they could result in errors during fulfillment.

 

Modify an existing product to add or change a SKU

    
  1. Login to your 3dcart administration panel

  2. Navigate to the New Products screen by clicking Products View/Edit.

  3. Locate the desired product on the Products List screen, click the Edit button.

  4. In the field labeled ID/SKU​ define your custom SKU.



 

Note: 3D Cart does not prevent duplicate SKU's. Having duplicate SKU's in 3D Cart could result in errors during fulfillment.
 

Working with product options

Products which has have options will also be required to have unique SKU's. Please visit 3D Cart's support site for more information on creating product options.
       

  1. Login to your 3dcart administration panel

  2. Navigate to the New Products screen by clicking Products View/Edit.

  3. Locate the desired product on the Products List screen, click the Edit button.

  4. Click the options tab. Enter a Part # for each option.



3D Cart will automatically append the SKU, and Part #'s together to create a unique SKU for all combinations of options.
