Amazon Marketplace - Configuring for Automated Fulfillment

This article outlines the steps required for configuring your Amazon Marketplace integration. Steps include:

  1. Configuring product SKUs (Stock Keeping Units)
  2. Gathering Store Shipping Methods
  3. Enabling Inventory Tracking

Configuring the Product SKU (stock keeping unit)

Stock keeping units (SKU) are merchant defined codes used to uniquely identify products in a warehouse. It is critical that the SKUs defined in Amazon Marketplace match exactly to the SKUs loaded into the warehouse management system.

Gathering Shipping Methods

Most businesses have unique shipping needs that are based on a variety of factors and limitations. Once the Merchant has decided which methods (and/or carriers) to offer, the only thing shoppers need to do is choose a method when they place their orders. As part of the third-party fulfillment setup process a mapping must be created from each available shipping description offered in the e-commerce system to the unique shipping code used by the fulfillment center.

Allowing API Access

The Application Programming Interface (API) allows for automated communication between connected systems. In order to automate fulfillment, API Access must be enabled.

Enabling Inventory Tracking
